Hey everyone! Here is my Idol Gives Back recap- it’s a little pitchy in spots so forgive me!
I wanted to do it in one take and leave it alone!

I still think its a David Vs. David Finale- I said it during top 12.
I said it would be Jordin Vs Blake last year by the top 10!

I’ve already made up a CD with all his iTunes songs on it as well as some older stuff I found on the net. I listen to it all day in the car and at home.
I love this kid and his soaring, powerful, emotive voice! Am also crazy about the cute, sweet package it comes in.

The biggest reason I was so disappointed that Michael Johns left was because I think he could have kicked some serious ass during Andrew Lloyd Webber week. I can’t see any of them being able to pull of musical theatre tunes the way he could have. What is Effie going to sing? Love Changes Everything from Aspects of Love? Maybe Any Dream Will Do from Joseph? Gag me now.
Michael Johns could have rocked Music of the Night.

I wasn’t shocked. That’s because I don’t watch American Idol, but at this point in the competition I know who all the major contestants were. I’d never even heard of this guy though. Just by the hype I think the goofy kid with the stage dad is going to win.

Also, David’s dad is getting a bad rap. I hate the media (not you, Buck)! They live to destroy people–often completely undeservedly. The story about David’s dad is BOGUS.
Dean Kaelin, David’s vocal coach has worked with him since he was 11, and he said he’s never seen Jeff bully David or put any undue pressure on him. Said he knows the difference between a stage dad and how Jeff relates with his son. TMZ and the rest of the rumormongers STINK.

Unfortunately I will be writing an exam tomorrow night…actually I need to write a 3 hour one at 9am and then a 3 hour one at 7pm…pray for me, so I won’t be able to make it here like I usually do. I know, try and hold back the tears.
So the question arises as to why I am here instead of studying. Well frankly, what is more important, Bucks recap of American Idol or studying? Obviously there is no comparison so I will continue to wait until it gets uploaded

In case you didn’t catch it, David Effie messed up the words during “Seasons of Love” (which was sung way too low. They were definately off pitch) He sang “In Bridges she burned or the times that she died” when it’s “Bridges HE burned or THE WAY that she died.” lol you only Die once Effie! Loved Fergie and Heart doing Baracuda though that was fantastic.

I was shocked about Michael. Although, towards the end of his performance, when he was pretty much screeching “Dream On,” I remember thinking “He should not have gone there.” I thought he sounded better during the results show.
I agree it will probably be Effie vs. Roadhouse; however, this year I’m rooting for Effie and Jason.

I am extremely upset that Michael is off the show. His performance was the best out of all the contestants last week to me. His true talent and capabilities weren’t appreciated enough so maybe he doesn’t belong on american idol anyways. He’s so genuinely sincere and real, he never argues with the judges, he just provides his point of view and it is always positive, with a cute smile to boot. I love Michael Johns and wish him only the best in the future. I LOVE YOU TOO BUCK! Can’t wait for your vid to finish uploading :] I can’t wait to hear what you have to say on the subject..I’ve been waiting all week!!!

omg buck you have no idea how upset I was!! I was shocked that MJ went home too! That “tuneless hack KLC” should be GONE (every week it’s some new gimmick, pandering to people’s patriotism, religion, wearing some slutty outfit, ARGH! she’s pissing me off!) and Carly was utterly atrocious last week!
DAVID ARCHULETA all the way! He is the most talented singer AI has seen in all its 7 seasons! He transcends this show frankly and should just be crowned the winner now! GO EFFIE!!!!!

I feel he is overrated because I don’t think he is as out of this world as the judges and media make him. He sings well, sure, but I don’t buy he is the absolute best out of everyone or ever. I have felt this way from the beginning and was always puzzled by the large amount of praise he got.

HMMM…well, I guess I’m just in that camp that thinks he is the best singer EVER!!!!!!!!!! I honestly think he’s better than all of the past AI contestants (the last 7 seasons) and pretty much everyone on the music scene today. His voice is pure, solid, and sexy. He is indeed destined for superstar-dom. I’m curious what about him or his voice you don’t find to be so amazing?!

Amazing episode Michael. One of my favorites.
I’m going to just throw this out there, and you will probably hate me for it….BUT, I am soooo over David Archuleta. Good Lord. He was fun at first and has a nice voice, but good Lord. I just can’t stand him anymore.

Clay sang a lot more than just Bridge Over Troubled Water, check it on YouTube. He received nothing but consistent positive feedback from the judges, and only lost the competition because of a glitch in the voting. He was far beyond his years, and showed nothing but maturity throughout the competition. He was always well spoken and very bright.

I agree that David Archuleta is the best ever. Love that incredible voice of his. I think people who are rockers just like a different type of music. When David can pick his own music, I think you’re really gonna be surprised at how much you dessenters actually do like him.
I wasn’t familiar with Seasons of Love and so didn’t catch the glitch on the lyrics. I did buy Shout to the Lord, though, and David is, by far, the STANDOUT on that song. It’s incredible! They showcase him, and it really fits perfectly. The song would pretty much suck without him. I don’t listen to gospel music but got this and have it on repeat. Am listening to it right now over and over. Love it. Love him.
One other surprise on this song is that it’s the best and most unique I’ve ever heard Brooke sing. If she sang her songs like she does this one, she’d be a real contender!

Hey! I really enjoy this show, been watching it for atleast a month now, havent had a chance to say that to you for..ever! Anyway! The inspiring song I would pick is ‘I Can Go the Distance’ from Hercules. Greatest…musical…song…ever. The reason I would pick this is because when I was about 3 I would sing this song at the top of my lungs singing : “I can go to distance!” Yeah, thats how I roll, well atleast thats the way I think I roll. yes, michael johns’ ass looked HUGE, maybe thats why he was voted off. carley is going next…i still love brooke (she goes to the wrong seat every results show)…david cook picked a horrible song and he shouldnt sing those low, soft notes…jason was good…effie was AMAZING as usual (michael, the song was angels originally by robbie williams, then later butchered by jessica simpson)…kristy did ok, but her past performances still make me hate her and that whole “kristy’s seat” thing…wtf…syesha (shes last in this list because i always forget her…doesnt that say it all?) needs to stop picking these big songs; i still think she has a nice voice, but too forgetable.

I was sad and shocked about Michael. Kristy Lee, Syesha, Carly, and Brooke should have been out before him. He should have at least made the top four. Brooke saying I love you to Paula was hilarious. Paula was like casually saying she loved Brooke but when Brooke said “I love you” it sounded like she really meant it. I kept and watching it over and over and laughing. My inspirational song would be “Piece of Me” by Britney Spears haha jk maybe “On the Radio” by Regina Spektor or “This Time Tomorrow” by the Kinks
PS. I loved David Roadhouse’s performance, but I think I am like the only one. Honestly, I can’t get that song he sang out of my head.

It made me so angry that Michael Johns got kicked off and that Ryan was a total bitch about it too. He was like “Oh last year we didnt kick someone off. But this year we do. Bye Michael.” I wanted to punch him in the face and then stomp on his fugly hair. I was so mad that I stomped around for like an hour and then went and called all my idol-watching friends to rant about how pissed I was. I probs looked like a giant hot mess. lol

I have to disagree. Like the majority of the show, I fast forwarded quickly past most of her. Screechy, dischordant. Not my style.
I was going to go to Utah for the Stadium of Fire on the Fourth of July if they got David Archuleta to come do it. But, no, they booked Miley so I was spared the 14-hour-one-way drive.
If they do a hoopla of some sort when David wins, I may well drive up for that.

I always feel like a child molester for even thinking that David A. is cute. At least he doesn’t lick his lips so much anymore! That grossed me out…
But I love Jason. He is just too beautiful. I like artists that are simple and good acoustic/live like Jason Mraz or Jack Johnson, and I think that he fits well with that genre. He so so so so good on those iTunes Studio Version’s of the songs that they perform. I would buy his album in a heartbeat, but I don’t know about any of the others.
BTW…I listened to Queen’s original version of ‘Show Must Go On’ (one of the best bands ever) and she really did seem angry when she did it. It isn’t an angry song. She was probably mad at all those people who think she’s preggers.

I love David A. he does not lick his lips that much anymore…hmmm. He sounded great Angels by Robbie Williams is my favorite song so I just totally lost it when he started singing it. It was amazing.

Michael Johns will be just fine, everybody. It’s fun seeing him do the interview circut….very appealing man on so many levels. And did anybody else think his elimination performance was so much better because of the leather jacket?
Say what you will about it being a SINGING competition, but it really is about the whole package. Not that kind of package, people. I thought he looked silly singing Dream On the first time with a $6 short sleeve dress shirt, vest, and that silliness of a scarf.
I love you, Michael John….get some good “people” and listen to them, and you will do more than fine.
Oh yeah, one more thing…..Go Kristy Lee!!!! Thank you to everybody who keeps bashing her — I think it’s helping her stay in this thing. I thought her performance of “Anyway” was the best of the night. Had never heard it before, but I’ve watched KLC and MMcB’s way too many times this week via YouTube.
