He wasn’t arrogant. He was stoned out of his mind.

Why not Syesha????
I am over archuleta. cook is meh!
last week I think Syesha was the best. If she is good this week, she could make it into the final 2.
What do you think?
Kirby reply on May 12, 2008:
Not Syesha. She and her bunions are going to Broadway. On Syesha’s last song, I thought Simon was going to say he agreed with Randy until he saw Syesha all crying and having a melt down. Then he said he agreed with Paula just so he wouldn’t be a monster. Which worked out well, because then he was able to chastize Randy for being mean. I could tell he revelled in that. Simon knows: Who cares what the judges say at this point? Good move Simon!
Bruce | May 12, 2008 | Reply
Finally. I couldn’t look a t those dread for another week. I just wanted to shave hiw head.
Why do you call David Archuleta “Effy”? I like him even though he reminds me of that buzzard from those old 1940s Bugs Bunny Cartoons. Did you ever watch those? You might remember if you saw it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAeEA3vjEd4
I love youtube. Instant gratification! Good ol’ fashioned racism. Can you imagine a cartoon today with a Itallian accented Mom smacking her kid around? Call the ACLU!
Also I think why Idol is boring this season is because I knew he was going to win wayback when he sung, Imagine and there were “19 other very misareable contestants.” Simon knew it too. What do you think of his stage-dad? Another buzzard cartoon parallel?
David has a tragic quality about him that goes beyond just having a stage-dad. What is it? Other David is good too though.
Kirby reply on May 12, 2008:
And what is up with Other David’s hair. Is that a comb-forward? Is he hiding a lightning-bolt-shaped scar? What?
mosaic915 reply on May 12, 2008:
BAHAHAHAHA! Effie is TOTALLY that buzzard!!!! You just made my day!

David Archuleta’s Pick-Up Line:

Want to hear something nice?
Did you see David Cook at all during his homecoming on Friday? He kept getting choked up because of everyone’s support. During one radio interview he actually had to stop talking for a second and collect himself. It was very sweet, and I honestly have no idea why some people still consider him arrogant.
People’s Republic of Cook all the way!!
mosaic915 reply on May 12, 2008:
Oh, also… Syesha comparing her “journey” on Idol to the civil rights movement pissed me off like nothing else.
KE reply on May 13, 2008:
David Archuleta went to the Gateway Mall expecting to sit at a table and autograph some pictures for some fans. Instead, he found 9,000 people crammed onto both levels of the mall. A huge mob, packed to the rafters.
David A. was so shocked, he had to turn away and shed a few tears. He was really grateful and surprised at the level of support. They could hardly snake the limo in and out. It was pretty cool.

Jason’s sloppy performances finally caught up with him - YAY!
maj55tl4 | May 12, 2008 | Reply
I thought Syesha did well… but her rendition had a poor arrangement, I toootally agree with Randy on that, and she went over the top with the vocals for a song so beautiful in its simplicity. She’s still good - but for Broadway.
Team Cook, definitely. Effie would never be a big record seller; he’s a younger future Clay Aiken =/
I was so disappointed that Jason left, and on such a bad note. He’s done some excellent songs, and I hope he does well in his career apart from AI. I can see him selling a lot of records, although not necessarily as a pop artist.

I am torn between effie and roadhouse. Effie is an amazing singer but roadhouse is so original and I think I would buy an album by him more than one by effie.
ashleybooo reply on May 13, 2008:
I’m not too thrilled with either of them but I think roadhouse would put out the best album. Effie’s good but I can’t picture myself like…singing along to him in the car ya know? What about you?
rinn reply on May 13, 2008:
effie all the way!
KE reply on May 13, 2008:
Team Archuleta, no doubt about it!
David Archuleta is superlative. I’ve made a CD of his songs, American Idol and before, and sing along with it all the time.
rinn reply on May 13, 2008:
omg you too?!!! some the ones i have that were pre-idol are: angels in the alleyway, the most beautiful, i’ll be, 1000 miles, dream sky high, joyful joy, dont tell me. am i missing any?! u have any others??? yeah i listen to him NON-STOP!
KE reply on May 13, 2008:
Here is a site that has a lot of David A.’s older stuff. Scroll up until you find it: http://idolforums.com/index.php?showtopic=543391&st=80&gopid=15384016&#entry15384016
I have a ton of stuff from Star Search and before in my collection. I put it on one CD but the CD I listen to most has the American Idol songs, the first two and the 4th you mentioned, plus Fallin and A Moment Like This.
I have his two Christmas songs on the “almost everything” CD…Mary, Did You Know? and O Holy Night. I know they’re seasonal but you forget that when you listen to him sing them. They’re out of this world–so beautiful, poignant and soaring. Hard to believe he’s 16, in a hotel conference room, someone handed him a mic, and he did THAT!
Even his soulful version of Happy Birthday as a young boy is amazing. The older versions of Angels are great as is I’ll Be, but the screaming is distracting. There are the two songs that he sang at the NY Firestation on the 1st anniversary of 9/11, too. They’re good, but there’s background noise which is bothersome.
Hope you’re gonna vote your fingers off tonight! Go, David A!!!

ashleybooo | May 13, 2008 | Reply
Buck, the only thing you left out of your review of last week was that David A.’s “Love Me Tender” rocked the house. It was incredible. Another “Imagine” moment for the kid.
Here is a great eonline report from a guy at last week’s performances–”But tonight, sitting in the live audience at Idol, I came to the realization that no matter who you are or what your age, when you hear David Archuleta in person, it is hard not to admit: He is so undeniably talented–WITH A VOICE SO FLAWLESS AND DYNAMIC AND PURE, IT ACTUALLY RESONATES IN YOUR SOUL–that he probably most deserves to be the winner of this year’s American Idol. (IT WOULD EXPLAIN WHY HE GOT THE ONLY FULL-AUDIENCE STANDING O’s OF THE NIGHT–AND TWO OF THEM, AT THAT!)” [my emphasis]
rinn reply on May 13, 2008:
*tear* that was beautiful!!! yay david!

Syesha is a great singer and will be great on broadway but that performance will not bring in the young vote.

Jason was really ready to leave. Did you see the American Idol Extra program that featured him after he was voted off? It’s on YouTube, if you missed it. He said he wasn’t used to learning new songs, was overwhelmed, had a hard time with learning two songs, didn’t think he could handle three. Was ready to go.

Round 1: Fierce
Everyone did great and you can already tell it’s going to be David vs. David in the final
Round 2: Not good. Not hot mess worth but still not good. Very dissapointing because they were able to pick there own songs
Round 3: I thought Cook would do a lot better with the final song and the other 2 song selections for Archuletta and Syesha were bad. Probably just getting Archulettas dad back
So David vs David in the final, see you tomorrow night Buck

Here’s a news release from American Idol spokesperson, Andrea Jamison:
“The rumor that surfaced yesterday on an entertainment Web site about Mr. Archuleta are categorically false. As part of normal procedures at American Idol, all family members of contestants and personal coaches are prohibited from participating in rehearsals during the final two weeks of the competition and the finale. The ‘ban’, if you will, applies to all family members and others not directly affiliated with the show and 19 Entertainment. This did not single out Mr. Archuleta nor do producers have any problems with his conduct whatsoever.”
lindsay reply on May 14, 2008:
http://www.tbtv.com/Entertainment-Story.aspx?cid=107648
the person who gave that quote doesn’t even exist, sorry.
KE reply on May 14, 2008:
The quote was from Idol Forum. I’m not going to automatically dismiss it. People who know Jeff and the family well say that he is not anything like the way he’s being portrayed.
Richard Parkinson, David’s music arranger/pianist for the last 2 1/2 years, said the producers heard David sing the song with those words inserted a number of times in rehearsals and didn’t say word one. Only afterwards did they make a stink.
I think TPTB at Idol want Cook to win. David had a current, pop version of “Longer” and “Think of Me” and Idol producers shot down both of them. Why in the world would they do that? Not let a talented 17 year old make an old song current? Seems fishy to me.
Also, they took away the monitors so David can’t hear himself over the screaming girls and loud music. Since he’s the only one who does runs, and rearranges and mixes up a song on the fly, he’s the one most hurt. He had a hard time hearing the band on “With Me” this week which made the first part of the song a little tentative.
Then Simon constantly pimps Cook and makes snarky comments about David A. As badly as they’re treating him, I’m wondering whether it would be best if he won or not. I’m gonna try and help him get there, but if Cook wins, David will still fly high. He’ll get a major contract and have more control over his career.
There are a gizillon fans and we’re going to the wall for David A., though, and see where the chips fall.
KE reply on May 14, 2008:
Oops. That should read “With You”.
KE | May 13, 2008 | Reply
KE yah ive heard all those songs too! i have most of them… just forgot to mention them. and dont worry i voted the entire 2 hours. if my calculations are right (gaah i hate math) then…
-i can get 6 votes per minute.
-6 vpm X 120 min = 720
-720 X 2 (2 phones!) = 1440 votes!!!
-however…i got tons of busy signals on all 3 lines!
-so its probably 720 votes or so.
