Dear Buck, this is long but I’m in a real pickle right now.
I’m 14 years old. My mom doesn’t really keep her email password a secret, and she knows that I know it. She told me to look at something from my grandparents and that she had it up on her computer, but I was sitting down at my desk so I thought I would just open her email on my computer. In her inbox was an email from my uncle about a trip our families are going to be taking together and about the activities we were planning, so I clicked on it (I know you’re gonna hate me but curiosity got the best of me). They were talking about the trip, but at the end of the first email my mom said this: “Im in a crisis of supply, if you get my drift. My agent left the country for a year without much notice. I wonder if you can bring me a serving. I am running low. I wonder if I should call _____…he might have some leads or contacts for me.” I was puzzled and reading my uncle’s reply I realized they were talking about marijuana. And so, (I know I’m horrible!) I started searching in my mother’s email looking for anything about how often she used it, ect. She was saying her and my dad both use it about once a week. She also said it made her paranoid, but then she said “for me and MJ its to death do us part” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!? My parents are perfectly normal, we live in the suburbs, middle class. Now I’m scared. She was saying how she wanted to start growing her own someday. I don’t consider weed that horrible of a drug but I’m very concerned about the health and legal problems my parents could get into. I feel really awkward around them now. I started searching for it (out of curiosity again) and found a jar in the bag of my freezer with a bag in it and a little bit of green stuff, it smelled awful and I put it back as nothing had happened. I can’t ask her about it because I was snooping! I know everyone always says when you snoop you find things you don’t like, but this is serious! I’m wondering if when I was around them they were high, and they aren’t really who I think they are. I can’t talk to my uncle or aunt about it, and the only other adult I trust right now is halfway across the country. Help!
