Hey Buck
most of my friends are either with a girlfriend and having sex and all the jazz. but im not and their constant talking about it is kind of putting pressure on me to feel like i need to have sex. but i dont really want to. also now my parents are going on about me getting a girlfriend but i just dont have the balls to be brave enough to say ‘hey fancy going out sometime’ what should i do, should i just man up and deal with it? or wait till im ready?

hey buck im going into my junior year of high school this year. im really not looking foward to it. i am very shy and i have a hard time making friends. i had 3 friends in high school and one of them left. so now i only have two. and all the lunches are different and last year out of my 7 day schedule there was one lunch where i had to stay in the bathroom so i would not be humilated.im really upset about it and i feel like such a loser. how can i make new friends because im antisocial i cant physiclly walk up to someone i dont talk to and talk to them. ive been thinking of homeschool but i want a graduation. buck please help.

I am going into 9th grade in a week, and I am really excited. I went to auditions last week for the fall musical and I was just cast in a featured dancer in my school’s production of ‘Once On This Island.’ There are four of us. One of them is a year older than me, and is really good friends with two of my best friends, who are a year older than me as well. The two best friends of mine have told me how we aren’t going to get along the whole past year and how much we will dislike eachother. I am extremely intimidated by her because I’m afraid they told her the same thing. On top of this all she is a phenomenal dancer, while I am just novice.

Dear Buck,
I’ve been developing feelings for a friend of mine, and I’m not sure how to act on it. Its kind of complicated, but to make it short, my best friend can go through swings of depression, and the girl I have feelings for has kind of saved him, and has been there for him. He’s now happier then ever(he’s bi,and I don’t think he’s interested in him), but I’m afraid he would fall back if anything happened between me and this girl, and that he would feel that he would be disconnected from us. Dear Buck, I’ve liked one guy since 4th grade but i’ve dated other people in the mean time. Now I’m 13 and he’s 14. This summer we started talking to each other more and became good friends. My friends all say he likes me but I don’t think he does because whenever I ask who he like’s he’ll never say me. He knows I have a boyfriend, but also that I wanna break up with him (I do). Yesterday we texted for 11 hours straight! Do you think he might like me or is it just wishful thinking?

I have always been self conscious. I am over weight, I have awful acne, and I just feel ugly all the time. I am starting high school in a week and I am worried that all of my friends from middle school will not want to talk to me anymore. I wouldn’t blame them though, they are all smart and pretty and not as awfully ugly as me.
Do you have any advice on how I can feel better about myself?

I’m an 18 year old college bound male that just came out to my mom a month ago. She was very supportive and made sure I still felt loved.
One month later, I talk to her on occasion about me being gay and each time, she isn’t convinced I’m gay.
I haven’t kissed a guy, and I haven’t kissed a girl since 7th grade. She thinks that because I haven’t tried to make a relationship with a girl work out, that I’m not sure that I’m gay. I have told her on numerous occasions that I just… know. How do I go about telling her that in a way that she stops asking me whether or not I’m gay.
I feel like I’m Kurt on Glee in that episode where Kurt wants his dad to love him. (except, I don’t feel like a musical ballad would help)

Hey Buck, I’m about to see my bipolar father who has been in jail for over a year. He’s been in and out of jail my whole life. We’re meeting at lunch on the first day of school, but I don’t know if I can trust him anymore. He always says he’s changed, that everything is different, but he always ends up going back to jail. Should I give him another chance? I want a father, but I’m afraid of being let down again.

I would just like to say that I really love your videos and you give great advice so here goes…
Ok so first of all I just graduated and even though this should be a happy time I’m super confused. For the last 2 and a half years I have been dating my english teacher, for the whole time that we have been together I have never told anyone. Not even any my best friends or my family. But my aunt just found out that she has breast cancer. I have lived with my aunt for most of my life and we are very close. Before she gets too sick or even dies I want her to meet my boyfriend. He is very very special to me and we plan to move in together after college.

So I really don’t know what to do! He doesn’t want anyone to know and I’m scared that my aunt will hate him because I was so young when we met… PLEASE HELP!
