  3. woop woop reppin’ the Marvel. As a child I was scared of religion, no seriously, not religion. Actually I was scared of a nun who was a first grade teacher at my school. They told stories of her flipping a desk on a kid, funny enough I met the person who the desk was flipped on about . . . 14 years later. Now we’re best friends! hahahah. Ohhh Effie your thank yous they scare me, but you are most certainly welcome.

  4. ahh when I was little (like five or seven) I used to think my stuffed animals, barbies, and other toys would get mad and hurt me if they weren’t all in the right place before I went to sleep.

  5. I am afraid of Needles.
Being alone. This is an odd one because I don’t mind being by myself. I like to think and stuff. But this pertains to losing all of the people I love. Friends and family and those such people. Get it?

And speaking of Marvel, I so bought an X-men comic the other day (like Monday) just because Gambit (the card throwing, bo staff weilding X-men) was on the cover. Favouritest X-men EVER!

  6. I was 11 years old when “The Exorcist” came out. I remember BEGGING mom to take me to see it, which she finally did. I remember I laughed all the way through it because I thought the effects didn’t look real and it wasn’t scary at all LOL
Not much scared me as a kid (not much scares me now either) My biggest worry was staying out of the racial fighting that was happening back then and surviving school every day. Maybe that is why I wasn’t afraid of things that were “make believe” LOL
    Cheers Buck :)

You can ask any family member or friend, I freak out when I see plain milk out of a container…like if it is mixed with somthing thats fine, or if it is in a glass thats fine. *lays on couch*

The Exorcist, Stranger in our House, Scanners where the guys head blows up at the end, and Sybil freaked me out because of her evil mom and all of those personalities.

    *shivers*

Other childhood fears… Mr. Freakin’ Rodgers and Miss Nancy on Romper Room. They were the first stalkers kids my age would come to know.

Romper Room wasn’t nearly as exciting as Mr. Rogers. But when she saw Lois, well, I knew life would always be different. I was practically famous.

    *flashback*

“Mom! Mommy! Ma? Mom! HEY! Mom, guess what? Guess what, Mom.”

    “Jesus, Mary and Joseph! WHAT?”

“She said my name! She said ‘I see Lois.’ See! She did see me, finally!”

Mom said, “I’m glad she saw you.”

As she walked away, slightly annoyed, her words echoed inside of my little pea brain, “She saw you.”

“Oh, shit! She saw me? Did she see me pick the wedgie out of my butt? It’s not my fault that my butt got hungry and ate my underwear! Did she see me lift my butt to the left when I farted earlier? Did she hear it and smell it too? Did she see that time I was digging for gold up my nostrils? Or that time I was rolling that gooey, rubber band booger on the knee of my jeans? Or that crusty one I flicked at the TV? Oh, shit! She saw me.”

Michael, I haven’t been right since.

  29. I used to be afraid of small showers with glass doors - I remember one movie where some supernatural evil something or another locked a woman in the shower then turned up the heat, which melted off her skin. Kind of freaked me out. Also, the movie The Frighteners with Michael J Fox - at the time it scared me silly. I saw it years later and it was actually more of a comedy than a horror film - but the whole face imprint on the walls, scared me lots.

Otherwise, sometimes I’m afraid of falling asleep because the prospect of dreaming scares me - it could be a good dream, could be a nightmare. Just considering how you have practically no control over that other reality - no control over your thoughts. Maybe it relates to my ultimate need for control over things - which is why I never will drink alcohol or do drugs or anything which alters my mind and causes me to lose control. And I’m not so wonderful at moderation.

    Oh, yes, also snakes!

texichan reply on May 7, 2008:

Doesn’t look like it, unfortunately! I don’t remember the title in the least, but that one looks too supernatural in a way. The one I saw, it might have been just one woman for the shower, there was a kid (maybe her son?) in the majority of the film, and I remember something about the dishwasher going at the same time as the shower. Pretty vague, right? Haha!

LoisLane reply on May 7, 2008:

A little vague, LOL. Maybe I did see that movie and that is why I am terrified of doing dishes?! :P

  30. Um, pigeons. I duck and everything. Or even avoiding walking under bridges that pigeons roost in. Icky!

As a kid, the Guiness Book of Worlds Records book scared the poop out of me….or more so the cover with the man with beard of bees…also made me itchy.

Needles in movies scare me….not so much in real life. But it’s one of the few times I need to look away from the screen.

Also that scene in Godfather where that guy gets shot between the eyes. Oh, there was a TV movie with a Man With Eyes Behind His Head that freaked me out as a kid. It’s probably so campy if I watch it now. They were painted on to a bald man’s head, but I couldnt handle it!

Hmmmm, both scenes involve the eyes.

I was also really scared of Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street. I saw the movie when I was like 6. And naturally my brother and sister teased me saying that he was gonna come and get me.

I don’t remember what type of underwear I wore. I do remember that I loved feety pajama’s. I practically lived in them.

  34. Lmao about the Hulk Buck.

Fears? Let’s see. Spiders, dolls. The shower scared me for a while, after watching psycho. Oh, and under the bed, because of that scene in Pet Cemetery, where the ankle/achilles heel gets slashed. I was seriously freaked out for like months after seeing it. Oh, and feet. I don’t know why, they scare me, but they do. They’re just so gross haha, I know I’m weird.

texichan reply on May 7, 2008:

Oh, gosh. I had the fear about under the bed, too. So mysterious, it is. :P But it was more related to the urban legend (even prior to a movie that mentioned it, I believe) where a girl had a pet dog who would sleep under her bed, and she would always pet it before she fell asleep, and it would lick her hand. Then a creepy, murderer guy crept into her bedroom whilst she was gone and killed the dog and stayed under her bed, then licked the girl’s hand when she stuck it under before going to sleep - but she saw his reflection in the mirror and ran out. So I always feared someone or something really scary was under there - if I left a body part in the way for more than a few seconds, I was doomed! So I’d always be hopping on and off the bed, veeeery quickly!

But, I always have to have some source of light in my room at night like the TV or the computer screen, because I’ll just get really nervous…then I’ll start crying…THEN, I’ll just go plum crazy!

  38. my brother had Underoos that were batman and superman and they actually had a cape that velcroed (sp?) to your shoulders. I used to wear them too cause we were about the same size. They were awesome.

I used to have these … lets call them episodes… where I’d be in my room in the night and I’d see some kind of bugs flying around and I’d put the covers over my head and pin the blanket down around me so the bugs couldn’t get to me, and then I would be so scared that if I stuck my head out that the bugs would attack me, so I would sit there and coach myself into escaping, and I would count to 3 and then pull the covers off and run to my parents room and wake them up.

  40. Me…afraid. Wow, that’s a really tough question for me, because a lot of my fears have complicated reasons behind them.

I’m afraid of people…just because of the robber/murderer/kidnapper/politician factor of it. Anyone can be any of those and you wouldn’t know it.

I’m afraid of outer space, because it’s infinite. And anything can be out there…things we don’t even know exist.

And I’m afraid of the ocean, because it’s so damn beautiful and powerful and mysterious and it can kill the people most in love with it.

I know I’m totally weird, but I’m a really complicated, open-minded, and deep-minded person. I think a lot, so I’m not afraid and terrified of a lot of stuff at the same time.

My only irrational fear is of stinkbugs… I have no idea why I hate them, I just do.

(We got one free pass to not watch a movie if we thought it would scare us too badly) I sucked it up and watched.

Oh, and when I was 3 I saw the Thriller video on MTV. I had just gotten the Cassette Tape (man I’m old) for my bday, and after watching the vid, I went home, pulled the actual tape out of the cassette, stomped on it, and threw it away. LOL.
